Wachtel Family Foot Care specializes in treating patients with foot, ankle, leg and lower extremity issues. This is increasingly important as people become more active and spend more time on their feet. Misalignment of the foot, which is the compensation caused by all of these other challenges in lower extremities will result in issues in the feet. There are a total of 52 bones in both feet, and this makes up one-fourth of all bones in the body.

Wachtel Foot and Ankle can diagnose and treat disorders, diseases and various injuries sustained on the foot and lower extremities.

After completing 4 years of undergraduate study at University of Temple Pediatric Medicine, Dr. Jeffrey Wachtel completed 2 additional residences at St. Lukes Hospital in Philadelphia as well as Hadassah Medical center in Jerusalem.

The conditions that are treated at Wachtel Foot and Ankle are ankle and foot injuries, knee pain, lower back pain, infections, deformities, diabetes-related complaints, ingrown toenails, bunions, heel spurs, calluses, and acute foot and ankle injuries such as broken or severely sprained ankles.

Wachtel Foot and Ankle also fits patients with orthotics, which are corrective inserts that compensate for misalignments. Orthotics are custom made to neutralize to alignment deformities in the foot or the base of the body. Wachtel Foot and Ankle utilizes a computerized gate analysis in designing orthotics. This enables sensors to read the patients pressure points and weight distribution.

Wachtel Foot and Ankle will use the computer readout to create the correct design for orthotics or recommend other treatment. Custom Orthotics will neutralize any pathology or foot misalignment.

Wachtel Foot and Ankle uses x-rays and lab tests to detect serious conditions like arthritis and diabetes, since patients with diabetes are likely to get foot ulcers and infections due to poor circulation.
